Independent Mid-term Impact Assessment Ipm-cotton Perambalur District, Tamil Nadu

A study undertaken by Dr. V. Puzhalendhi (Sr. Economist)  notes the positive impact of IPM-Cotton intervention in Perambalur district, Tamil Nadu which has benefited farmers in multiple dimesions like increased productivity and cost reduction through appropriate and reduced fertilisers and pesticides use etc. The report further shows that due to IPM-Cotton intervention, farmers received an additional 1.76 quintal per acre - roughly an additional Rs.8,000 per acre. In addition to this, farmers also benefitted by only need-based pesticide spraying.

Impact Assessment 2012-14: Cotton-wheat Cropping System In Punjab

The study has been undertaken over a two-year period to assess the impact of the cotton-wheat cropping system project being implemented in 100 villages in four districts of Punjab by RGR Cell. A total of 23,619 farming families were adopted under the project. Further, the overall impact of the project is evident from the participatory farmers earning a net gain of Rs.6,688/acre (2013-14). In terms of Cotton, participatory farmers earned 23.78% higher profit than non-participatory farmers. Similarly, in wheat, participatory farmers spent 29.4% less on pesticides than non-participatory farmers

Ipm-basmati: Impact Assessment 2012-13

A study undertaken by Dr. Joginder Singh (Sr. Economist) shows that due to the IPM-Basmati intervention, farmers received approximately an additional Rs.8,000/acre through correct fertiliser application and higher yield. Further, it highlights the need to include a Market Information Cell which can provide farmers with real-time information for higher price realisation.

Ipm-cotton In Punjab: 10 Year Impact Assessment Study

Cotton is one of the most important crops of Punjab, covering about 5 lakh hectares area with an output of 20.06 lakh bales in 2009-10. It witnessed serious decline in productivity and shattering the economy of cotton belt at the end of past century. To arrest this trend, IPM cotton project was initiated by SRTT in collaboration with PAU and Department of Agriculture, Punjab. This project has been reviewed at a number of times which substantiated socio-economic and environmental gains reaped by farmers, landless labour, industry and trade.
